The FA has agreed to extend the Mixed Football experiment until the end of Season 2009-10

(2009)
Existing leagues already involved in the 2008-09 experiment and brand new leagues who wish to be involved must complete an FA Dispensation Form and send it to their County FA by Friday 24 July 2009. This will be for Season 2009-10 only, and for girls aged U12, U13 and U14.
This dispensation will only apply to those leagues who can show evidence of girls showing a strong desire to continue playing Mixed Football.
Leagues and their member clubs will not be encouraged to actively recruit girls for this as The FA Women's Committee still wish to see the majority of girls remain in the female player pathway.
Any league given dispensation must commit to work with The FA, County FAs and their partners to monitor and evaluate this experiment, as well as support debates in Counties regarding the overall views of mixed football.

'CIA suspect in Bhutto's assassination'

Slain Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto could have been targeted by the CIA as part of its recently-exposed alleged assassination program, reports say.
On Wednesday, Washington-based investigative journalist Wayne Madsen quoted US intelligence officials as making 'prominent' references to Bhutto as a probable target of the program.
"I spoke to several US intelligence officials who were telling me that this assassination team may have targeted politicians in other countries," Madsen told Russia Today.
"One name mentioned prominently was former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto, who may have been a victim of this particular program."
The program was recently exposed by the agency's director Leon Panetta, who claimed that he had stopped it last month upon hearing about it.
On Monday, The Wall Street Journal quoted intelligence sources as saying that the program also included capturing or killing al-Qaeda operatives.

Roxana Saberi: Pretty guilty

While the world seems to rejoice in the release of the journalist Roxana Saberi from an Iranian jail, and conspiracy theorists are busy weaving tales of the conspiracy for her arrest, and release, The Times of London revealed on May 12 that she had indeed committed the serious offences of which she had been accused.

One of Miss Saberi’s attorneys -- Mr. Saleh Nikbakht -- made the startling revelation, on the day she was released after three months in detention. He confirmed that Miss Saberi -- who was initially arrested for the illegal purchase of an alcoholic beverage -- had later been found to have in her possession classified documents without the necessary permits.
Her lead defense attorney, Mr. Abdolsamad Khorramshahi, said that during the hearing, his client had “accepted that she had made a mistake and got access to documents she should not have.”
